Melba P. Lowery, 92

Melba P. Lowery, 92, of St. Marys, died at 2:05 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 2, 2014, at Auglaize Acres. She was born Sept. 30, 1921, in St. Marys, the daughter of Alva and Mary (Long) Burd, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her husbands, Clarence Dorsten, Robert Hecht and Charles B. Lowery.

Survivors include three sons, James Dorsten, of Piqua, Ronald (Mildred) Dorsten, of Wapakoneta and Daniel “Lee” (Jean) Dorsten, of St. Marys; nine grandchildren; 17 great- grandchildren; and 14 great-great-grandchildren.

Melba retired from Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. in St. Marys after 25 years of service. She attended the Buckland United Church of Christ. Her hobbies included fishing, crocheting and solving word puzzles.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 6, 2014, at the Bayliff & Eley Funeral Home, state Route 501, Wapakoneta, with Pastor Adrian Sunday officiating. Burial is to follow in the Elm Grove Cemetery in St. Marys. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. Thursday until time of service at the funeral home.
