Man sentenced on sexual imposition charge

Jonah C. Brannon, of Wapakoneta, was sentenced Dec. 12 to 60 days in the Auglaize County Corrections Center on one count of sexual imposition, a third degree misdemeanor. Brannon was declared a Tier 1 sex offender and must register for 15 years.

Brannon was originally charged with one count of rape, a first degree felony, one count of gross sexual imposition, a third degree felony and one count of sexual imposition, a third degree misdemeanor, for offenses that occurred on Oct. 25, 2016.

A negotiated plea agreement was filed Dec. 12, wherein the first two charges were dismissed, according to court records.

Rachel Jean Monroe, of Dayton, was sentenced to six months in the Auglaize County Corrections Center and five years of community control sanctions for a charge of theft, a fourth-degree felony. The charge stems from an offense that occurred on April 27. Monroe was credited with 159 days jail time. Monroe also must successfully complete the Auglaize County Recovery Program.

Monroe was originally charged with possession of drugs, a fifth degree felony, and theft, a fourth degree felony, for offenses that occurred on April 27, 2017. Monroe entered a change of plea on Oct. 3, wherein the defendant was found guilty of theft. The possession of drugs charge was dismissed.
