Man dead in golf cart crash

June 16, 2014

A man was found dead on the scene after an accident involving a golf cart and a Jeep at approximately 10:30 a.m. on Monday at the intersection of Conant and Monroe Roads in northwest Buckland.

"We found that a golf cart had failed to yield from a stop sign to an oncoming vehicle," Sergeant Kristina Bennett, with the Wapakoneta post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, said.

Bennett said the driver of the golf cart was traveling eastbound and the driver of the black 4-door Jeep was traveling southbound.

After striking the vehicle, the golf cart turned over. First responders lifted the vehicle off the driver in order to seek medical attention. The man was deceased.

The driver and two child passengers in the Jeep were not injured. Bennett said the driver is not facing any charges at this time.

No names have been released.
