Larry L. Lunz, 69, of rural Wapakoneta, died at 12:09 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 16, 2014, at his residence with his family at his side. He was born Nov. 1, 1944, in Lima, the son of Roy L. and Violet M. (Hole) Lunz, who preceded him in death. On Feb. 21, 1976, he married Kathleen L. McDermitt, and she survives.
Other survivors include, two children, Edward Lunz, of Wapakoneta, and Theresa (Adam) Friemoth, of Celina; a sister, Carol McCullough, of New Knoxville; two brothers-in-law, David McDermitt, of St. Marys, and Thomas (Pat) McDermitt, of Celina.
He was preceded in death by two infant brothers, William and Donald.
Larry worked as a route salesman for Pepsi Cola, Lima, retiring in March 2007 after 38 years of service. He was a member of the Uniopolis United Methodist Church. A 1962 graduate of Wapakoneta High School, Larry also served in the Ohio National Guard. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles, Aerie #691, Wapakoneta. He raised New Zealand rabbits and was an adviser with the Hare Raisers 4H Club for 22 years. He was also a member of the Ohio New Zealand Breeders Association and the National New Zealand Breeders Association. He enjoyed deer hunting.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2014, at the Bayliff & Eley Funeral Home, state Route 501, in Wapakoneta, with Pastor Josh Andrews officiating. Burial is to follow in the Greenlawn Cemetery, Wapakoneta. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, at the funeral home.
