Lady Redskins fall to Parkway

The Wapakoneta softball team came up short in a high-scoring affair with Parkway, losing 11-10 in eight innings in a nonleague game on Saturday.
The Lady Redskins had a 4-3 lead after four innings, then got a run in the top of the fifth. But Parkway put up five runs in the bottom of the fifth to go ahead 8-5. Wapakoneta got a run in the sixth and three in the seventh. A run for Parkway in the bottom of the seventh tied the game at nine.
Wapakoneta put up a run in the eighth, but Parkway still had an at-bat, and scored twice to get the win.
Alex Daum went the distance for Wapakoneta. She gave up 12 hits and walked three. She struck out six.
Wapakoneta had 10 hits on the day, with Grace Jolly going 5-for-5 with four RBIs. She had three singles, a double, and a 3-run home run. Kaylee Huggins had two hits for Wapakoneta.
