June Meiring, 84

June V. Meiring, 84, of Wapakoneta, died at 1:14 a.m. Saturday, March 2, 2013, at Wapakoneta Manor, surrounded by her family.
She was born June 29, 1928, in New Knoxville, the daughter of Frances E. (Kattman) and Walter A. Kuck, who preceded her in death. She was married to Harry Meiring, and he died in 1990.
Surviving are four children, Janet (David) Maish, of Brookville, Craig (Anita) Metz, of New Knoxville, Susan (John) Shields, of Albertville, Ala., and James (Mary) Metz, of Wapakoneta; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; two sisters, Evelyn Kerns, of Sidney, and Agnes (William) Hutt, of Wapakoneta; a close friend, Norman Butcher Sr., of Pandora; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a former husband, Carvel Metz; and a brother, Willis Kuck.
June had worked in the Auglaize County Auditor’s Office for 16 years. She had attended Harvest Baptist Church in Wapakoneta, and was a graduate of New Knoxville High School. Her hobbies included cooking, gardening, crocheting, traveling, and visiting with family and friends.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Harvest Baptist Church in Wapakoneta, with the Rev. Gary Bragg officiating. Burial is to follow in the Greenlawn Cemetery, in Wapakoneta.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Bayliff & Eley Funeral Home, St. Rt. 501, Wapakoneta, and 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the Harvest Baptist Church.
