Jerry L. Craft, 75

Jerry L. Craft, 75, of Wapakoneta, died at 7 a.m. on Tuesday, July 1, 2014, at his residence.  He was born March 10, 1939, in Lima, the son of Emil and Eleanor (Phalen) Craft, who preceded him in death.

Survivors include, six children, Michael A. (Melanie) Craft, of Chester, Va., Deborah Lynn (Wayne) Garner, of Chester, Va., Laura A. Craft, of Richmond, Va., Angela M. Moon, of Hudson, Fla., Sherri L. (Rod) Swisshelm, of Westchester, Ohio, and Kelly C. (Frank) Valentine, of Wapakoneta; 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; a sister, Christine (Ron) Wattercutter, of Wapakoneta.

Jerry retired in 2004 after 40 years service with the Wapakoneta Machine Co. A graduate of St. Joseph High School, he was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. Jerry was an avid outdoorsman, expert handyman and constant experimenter. He played the guitar, loved country music, gardening, bowling, boating and most importantly family.  

Memorial services will be held at 4 p.m. on Saturday, July 5, 2014, at the Bayliff & Eley Funeral Home, state Route 501, Wapakoneta, with Pastor Scott Miller officiating. The family will receive friends from 1-4 p.m., Saturday, at the funeral home. Military rites will be provided by the Wapakoneta V.F.W. Post #8445 following the services at the funeral home.   Memorial contributions may be directed to the charity of the donor’s choice. Condolences may be expressed at bayliffandeleyfh.com.
