Jeffrey Lynn Valenti, 54, of Cridersville, died at 8:05 a.m. Friday, April 19, 2013, at home surrounded by his family.
He was born Nov. 4, 1958, in Lima, the son of Helena (Ritt) and Louis “Bernie” Valenti. His mother survives outside of Cridersville. He married Kelly Gilbert, who is preceded in death.
He is also survived by his siblings, Louis “Bernie” (Kris) Valenti, of Muncie, Ind., Dennis (Kathy) Valenti, of Cridersville, Thomas (Kellie) Valenti, of Cridersville, Kathy Valenti, of Cridersville, and Michael (Angie) Valenti of Farmersville; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Douglas Valenti.
Jeff had worked 25 years with Dietrich Inc. and then worked for several years at T & D Interiors and was a member of the Carpenters Local Union 372. After graduating from Wapakoneta High School in 1977 he spent one year at Bowling Green State University. Jeff was an avid fisherman, hunter, and a big Ohio State Buckeyes and Cleveland Browns fan. He was also a long time member of the NRA.
The family plans to receive friends from 3 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville.
A service will follow the visitation at 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Ohio State James Cancer Center or St. Rita’s Hospice.
