Helen Elsass, 91

Helen Elsass, 91, formerly of Kettering, passed away on Sunday, March 10, 2013.
Helen was born Oct. 28, 1921, in Auglaize County, to the late Sophia (Pulfer) and Philip Helmlinger, who preceded her in death.
She is survived by a daughter, Kay Breece, of London, Ohio; a son and daughter-in-law, Merle (Sherrie) Elsass, of San Antonio, Texas; six grandchildren: Megan Breece, Greg Breece, Erin Elsass, Ashley Elsass, Josh Elsass, and Caitlin Elsass; three great-grandchildren, Hudson, Holden and Jackson; a brother, Harold Helmlinger; and daughter-in-law, Sandy Elsass.
Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph; a son, Mark Elsass; a sister, Erma Elsass; and a brother, Ernest Helmlinger.
Helen was a 1944 graduate of Capital University in Columbus, a long time member of Faith Lutheran Church in Kettering and her favorite hobby was remodeling homes.
A visitation was held from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Faith Lutheran Church, 3315 Martel Dr., Dayton. A second visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. today at Bayliff & Eley Funeral Home, 1102 Lincoln Ave., Wapakoneta, with funeral services to follow at 2 p.m. Interment will take place in Greenlawn Cemetery in Wapakoneta.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Heart Association in memory of Helen.
