Harmon Field to host 2 more playoff games

Harmon Field in Wapakoneta will be the site of at least two more playoffs games this fall after having hosted the town’s Redskins this past Friday.
The stadium will be a neutral site for a pair of postseason games, one Friday and one Saturday, as Convoy Crestivew (9-2) and Ada (8-3) will meet there at 7:30 p.m. Friday in a Division VI, Region 20 semifinal, while North Lewisburg Triad (11-0) and Sidney Lehman Catholic (10-1) will kick off at 7 p.m. Saturday in a Division VII, Region 26 semifinal.
The Wapakoneta Redskins played at Harmon Field this past Friday in a Division III, Region 10 quarterfinal, losing 41-34 in overtime to the Springfield Shawnee Braves.
Shawnee (10-1) will face the defending Division II state runner-up, Trotwood-Madison (8-2), at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Purk Field at Alexander Stadium in Piqua in a Division III, Region 10 semifinal.
Kenton (11-0) advanced to the second round of the playoffs with a 58-14 win over Galion on Friday.
Kenton will meet Wooster Triway (9-2) in a Division IV, Region 12 semifinal at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Arlin Field in Mansfield.
Kenton was the Western Buckeye League champion for 2013 and the only team to beat Wapakoneta during the regular season.
Midwest Athletic Conference schools went 3-0 in playoff games over the weekend.
Marion Local (11-0), a 63-14 winner Saturday over Fort Loramie, will play Covington (11-0) at 7 p.m. Saturday in a Division VII, Region 26 semifinal at Purk Field at Alexander Stadium in Piqua.
Marion Local, a two-time defending state champion in Division VI, was the MAC champion for the 2013 season.
Coldwater (9-2), the defending state champion in Division V, will continue its playoff run after a 42-16 win Saturday over Pemberville Eastwood.
Coldwater will meet a No. 8 seed, Doylestown Chippewa (9-2), at 7 p.m. Saturday in a Division V, Region 16 at National Field at Frost-Kalnow in Tiffin.
St. John’s (7-4), a No. 8 seed itself, will play at Donnell Stadium in Findlay at 7 p.m. Saturday against Tiffin Calvert (7-4) in a Division VII, Region 24 semifinal.
