Fred Piehl inducted into Ohio Fairs Hall of Fame

Longtime Auglaize County Fair Manager Fred Piehl was honored Jan. 7 with induction into the Ohio Fairs Hall of Fame Class of 2018.

The Ohio Fair Managers announced Piehl's induction, along with two other individuals and one couple, at the Annual Ohio Fairs Convention awards breakfast.

Piehl retired in October following a 25-year career with the Auglaize County Fair.

The Citation reads as follows:

It is with great pleasure on behalf of the directors of The Auglaize County Fair to nominate Fair Manager Fred Piehl to the Ohio Fair Managers Association Hall of Fame.

Fred Piehl started out early in life as a 4-H Member and FFA member showing Steers and Angus cattle at the Auglaize County Fair after serving 10 years a director and then 25 years as the Fair Manager of the Auglaize County Fair retired in 2017. Fred improved the fair in many ways through his leadership, construction knowledge, financial stewardship and oversight with the community.
