Frances C. Gehrlich, 97

Frances C. Gehrlich, 97, of Wapakoneta, died at 2:30 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 7, 2013, at The Gardens of Wapakoneta. She was born April 23, 1916, in Ottawa, Ohio, the daughter of Rudolph and Anna (Eberle) Kolhoff, who preceded her in death. On May 30, 1940, she married Edward W. Gehrlich Sr., and he died April 26, 2004.
Survivors include, four children, Edward “Bill” (Linda) Gehrlich, Jr., of Massillon, Ohio, Margaret “Peg” (John) Meyer, Austin, Texas, Thomas (Sharon) Gehrlich, Westerville, Ohio, Judith Magner, Huntington, Ind.; eight grandchildren, Catherine (Lawrence) Maness, Christopher (Luz) Meyer, Edward (Adeline) Meyer, Thomas (Cheryle) Gehrlich, Samuel (Lynnette) Gehrlich, Ellen Gehrlich, Erin (John) Wolpert, and Craig (Brandy) Forgey; 20 great-grandchildren; a sister, Wilma Felkey, Bucyrus, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by a son, Stephen Gehrlich; six brothers; and sisters, Norman Kolhoff, Ruth Hinkle, Elizabeth Hazelton, Carl Kolhoff, and twins Doris Carpenter and Delores Kolhoff.
A homemaker, Mrs. Gehrlich, was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church, Wapakoneta. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, sewing, and playing cards. The family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to the staff at The Gardens of Wapakoneta for the wonderful care their mother received for the past 10 years.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 1:30 p.m. Monday at the St. Joseph Catholic Church, Wapakoneta, with Fr. Patrick Sloneker officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Wapakoneta.
The family will receive friends from 11a.m. - 1p.m., Monday at the Long & Folk Chapel, 13 South Blackhoof Street, Wapakoneta. Memorials may be directed to the St. Joseph Renovation Fund or to St. Rita’s Hospice. Condolences may be expressed at bayliffandeleyfh.com.
