Ferdinand Fisher, 68

Ferdinand Thomas Fisher, 68, previously of Wapakoneta, died Sept. 19, 2011, at Winterhaven Hospital in Winterhaven, Fla.
He was born June 26, 1943, in Wapakoneta, the son of Reba (Wirick) and Earl Fisher. In July of 1966, he married Linda Steinecker. On March 29, 1980, he married Constance (Luma) Conaway, and she survives in Bowling Green, Fla.
Also surviving is a son, William (Kellie) Fisher, of Wapakoneta; a daughter, Milissa (Dale) Steinke, of Wapakoneta; two step-daughters, Yvonne Dickinson, of Indianapolis, and Pamela Layman, of Florida; three grandsons, William Rosenbeck, Michael Rosenbeck and Ryan Rosenbeck; two step-grandchildren, Courtney Layman and Connor Layman; two sisters, Linda (Robert) Crow and Kim Fisher; two step-brothers, Charles (Carol) Andrews, and Burton (Lyndella) Andrews; four sisters-in-law, Carla Fisher, Mary (Adam) Holbrook, Theresa (Chuck) Tingler, and Kathy (Spock) Powell; a brother-in-law, Rodney (Cindy) Luma; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his step-mother, Ruth (Campbell) Fisher; a brother, Myron “Moe” Fisher, an infant brother, Calvin Fisher; and his father and mother-in-law,, William and Thelma Luma.
He retired in 2000 from ABF in Atlanta. He previously worked for Scot Lad in Lima and American Freight in Vandalia. He served in the United States Army, was a member of the Wapakoneta Eagles and the Wapakoneta Knights of Columbus. He had the distinction of being a Fourth Degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus.
He was also aa member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Wapakoneta. He spent his retirement years enjoying the sunshine in Florida.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Oct. 1 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Wapakoneta. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Wapakoneta.
There will be no public visitation.
