Eva Annalee Cowger, 86,Â died at 1:40 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2013.
She was born Feb. 1, 1927, in Keysor, W. Va. to Ray and Jessie (Osburn) Stump.
On Nov. 24, 1946, in Hacker Valley, W. Va., she married Evin Hubert Cowger, who died June 2, 2004.
They moved to Ohio a few years later and built their home onÂ CR 33AÂ Wapakoneta. In 2003 she moved to St. Marys where she lived on Royal Oak Drive.Â Several years later, due to failing health, she relocated to Quaker Heights Care Community Waynesville, Ohio.
Survivors include, a daughter Starla DobsonÂ of Port Charlotte, Fla.; son Gregory (Julie) Cowger, of Waynesville, Ohio; four grandchildren, Nathan (Kasey)Â Bice, Erin (Dave) Harrington, Christopher (Leigh Anne) Cowger,Â Corey Cowger; six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by parents Ray and Jessie Stump; husband Evin Hubert Cowger; two brothersÂ Ray B.Â Stump, Jr. and Charles Stump
She was a graduate of Wright State University in Dayton, where she earned a degree in elementary education.
She retired from Minster Elementary School, having taught second grade for many years. She had previously taught in Moulton and Â West Virginia.
She attended Crossview Christian Church in Waynesville.
She was a member of Â Hillsdale Baptist Church, Hawthorne Chapter #119 OES, Delta Kappa Gamma sorority, Auglaize Co. Retired Teachersâ€™ Association and After 5 Club.
Her favorite pastimes included gardening, sewing and camping.
Funeral services are scheduled to begin 10 a.m. Saturday at Miller â€“ Long & Folk Funeral Home (314 W. High Street Chapel) in St. Marys. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens, near Moulton.
Visitation will be from 6 â€“ 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home on High Street.
A family visitation and celebration of life will be held at Crossview Christian Church in Waynesville from 6-8 p.m. Thursday Nov. 14.
