Eric C. Johnson, 50, 06761 Auglaize County Road 33A, St. Marys, died at 8:45 p.m. Thursday, April 11, 2013, at Lima Memorial Health System.
He was born July 14, 1962, in Bar Harbor, Maine, to Joyce E. (Van Schoyck) and William F. Johnson, who survive in St. Marys
Also surviving are a daughter, Alena Johnson, of Wapakoneta; two brothers William “Skip” (Karla) Johnson, of St. Marys, and Brian (Amy) Johnson, of St. Marys; a sister, Jenniffer (Mark) Sandberg, of St. Marys; a former wife Jennifer Furr, of Wapakoneta; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by an infant brother, Daniel Shawn Johnson
He was a 1980 graduate of St. Joseph, Mich. High School.
He lived many years in the state of Texas, where he worked as a skilled laborer in the construction industry.
He attended the Wayne Street United Methodist Church in St. Marys.
An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed fishing and raising chickens, turkeys and rabbits. He also liked professional hockey, especially the Columbus Blue Jackets.
A Celebration of Life service is scheduled to begin at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Miller - Long & Folk Funeral Home (314 W. High Street Chapel) in St. Marys, with the Rev.Steve Weatherly officiating. Burial will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery in St. Marys.
Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home on High Street.
