Edward Hut, 65

Edward J. “John” Hut, 65, of Wapakoneta and Ft. Myers, Fla., died at 1:20 a.m. Friday, Feb. 15, 2013, at St. Rita’s Medical Center, in Lima, after a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born July 17, 1947, in Wapakoneta, to Pearl (Hale) and Phillip Hut, who preceded him in death. On Aug. 30, 1973, he married Andrea Ryan, and she survives in Wapakoneta.
Also surviving are a son, Guy (Holly) Hut, of Wapakoneta; a daughter, Danielle (Ralph) Oen, of Wapakoneta; three grandchildren, Zane Oen, of Wapakoneta, Slade Oen, of Wapakoneta, and Ridge Hut, and of Wapakoneta; and three sisters and a brother, Ruth Ann (Bob) Wells, Joyce Victor, Larry Hut, and Stella (Dave) Gossard.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Phillip Hut.
John was a second generation house builder following in his father’s footsteps and passing it on to his son. He was a member of Carpenters Union 372. He was known for his extreme work ethics. His grandchildren always referred to him as “Pops,” which was his nickname that many knew him by. He enjoyed playing poker with his friends and was an avid fisherman who enjoyed fishing with his grandchildren. He also enjoyed spending the winter months down in Florida on the water. He was always very sociable and outgoing.
There will be no public visitation or services.
