Dorothy Bowersock, 82

Dorothy A. Bowersock, 82, of rural Wapakoneta, died at 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2012, at her residence.
She was born Jan. 30, 1931, in Duchouquet Township, Auglaize County, the daughter of Katherine (Kreimas) and Urban Metzger, who preceded her in death. On July 29, 1950, she married Harvey J. Bowersock, and he died Oct. 18, 2010.
Surviving are eight children, Kathy Tatro, of Lakeside, Calif., Richard (Danita) Bowersock, of Rifle, Colo., Dr. Terry (Rose) Bowersock, of Lawton, Mich., Jim (Jane) Bowersock, of Wapakoneta, Lanette (Tom) Norman, of Russels Point, Paul (Debbie) Bowersock, of Wilder, Ky., Todd (Lisa) Bowersock, of Richmond, Ind., and Kay Wilges, of Cridersville; 17 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Greg Wilges; a great grandchild, Natasha Bowersock; two sisters, Calista Lotridge and Barbara Webb; and two brothers, Norbert Metzger and Robert Metzger.
A bookkeeper, Mrs. Bowersock had worked for Landmark in Uniopolis and later had worked as an in home care aide. She was a member of the Wapakoneta Church of the Nazarene. She enjoyed making crafts, quilting, needle point, and making Christmas gifts for the entire family. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family.
Services are at 10 a.m., Saturday at the Wapakoneta Church of the Nazarene, with the Rev. Stephen Smitley officiating. Burial is to follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery in Lima.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Bayliff & Eley Funeral Home, St. Rt. 501, Wapakoneta, and from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday at the church.
