A teacher from the Wapakoneta School District has been recognized for her achievements in the classroom throughout the past year.

Wapakoneta High School English teacher Kelli Benshoff, who teaches 10th grade Language Arts, has been awarded the “2013 Teacher of the Year” award distributed by the Alvin W. Metzger VFW #8445.

Wapakoneta School District Superintendent Keith Horner asked principals throughout the district to submit a  nomination for teacher of the year, and he said he selected Benshoff due to her representation of the entire school district.

“She is really reflective about what she’s doing in the classroom, really cares deeply about kids and is really conscientious about kids learning on an ongoing basis,” Horner said.
