Church celebrates 175th anniversary

The Uniopolis United Methodist Church will celebrate its 175th anniversary Sunday, Sept. 14 with a special service commemorating the milestone.

The service will begin at 9 a.m. at the church, located seven miles east of Wapakoneta at 145 state Route 65 in Uniopolis. Following the special service will be a fellowship gathering for members of the church where food and drinks will be served.

After the fellowship there will be a performance by Soul’d Out Quartet at 1:30 p.m.

The group, which specializes in Christian gospel music, formed in 2004 in Georgetown, Ohio. The quartet is comprised of vocalists Dusty Barrett, Bryan Hutson and Matt Rankin, as well as Ian Owens on bass and Michael Howard on piano.
