Bradley Oen, 63

Bradley A. Oen, 63, of Wapakoneta, died Thursday, June 6, 2013, at his residence.
He was born Sept. 26, 1949, in Lima, the son of Anna Eileen (Anthony) and James Oen, who preceded him in death.
Surviving are his step-mother, Nancy Oen, of Wapakoneta; four siblings, Kevin (Cecilia) Oen, Eric (Kimberle) Oen, and Becky (Larry) Curtis, all of Wapakoneta, and Amy (Eric) Eichner, of Beavercreek; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
Brad retired in 2012 after 28 years service as a rural mail carrier with the U.S. Postal Service. Prior to that, he had been employed at the family business, Oen Pontiac & Buick, Wapakoneta. A 1967 graduate of St. Joseph High School, he received a bachelor’s degree in 1972 from Walsh College in Canton. Brad served in the U.S. Army and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Wapakoneta. His other memberships included V.F.W. Post 8445, the American Legion Post 330, Amvets Post 333, K of C Council 1272, and Brands Lake Fishing Club. He sang with the Lima Beane Chorus and was a member of the Train Town Express Quartet. He took great pride in playing Taps for military graveside services with the V.F.W. and was very active with Buckeye Boys State. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, golfing, gardening, and tormenting people.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Wapakoneta. Burial of the cremated remains will follow in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, in Wapakoneta, where military rites will be conducted by the Wapakoneta V.F.W. Post 8445.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday and 9 to 10 a.m. Friday at the Bayliff & Eley Funeral Home, St. Rt. 501, Wapakoneta.
