A season-low by senior Dan Bogan aided the Wapakoneta Redskins in their 169-185 win Monday over the Ottawa-Glandorf Titans in a Western Buckeye League varsity boys golf match at Pike Run Golf Course in Ottawa.
Bogan shot a 42 and scored in his second straight match for Wapak after having not done so yet this season.
Wapak senior Bobby Crow was match co-medalist Monday with a 40, tying O-G’s Carson Williams.
Drew Wayman, like Bogan, shot a 42.
Ryan Hunlock finished Wapak’s scoring with a 45. Hunlock’s round counted in Wapak’s team score for the first time since Aug. 19 in the WBL opener against Kenton.
Nick Bruns (48) and Alex Gossard (49) also played for Wapak.
“Again, we traveled to a course where only a few players played the course,” Wapak varsity coach Kenny Wayman said. “The course had a few pin placements that were tough but overall I thought the course played fair for the players.
“Unfortunately, we had too many three-putts for the day,” he said. “If we can get rid of those three-putts, we can post a really good team score. However, we will take wins any way we can get them.”
Wapakoneta is now 6-2 overall and 5-2 in the WBL.
Elsewhere in the WBL, the Bath Wildcats clinched at least a share of the regular season league title with a win Monday over Shawnee.
Bath is 7-0 in the WBL with two matches to play and ahead of second-place teams Wapakoneta, Celina and Kenton.
Wapak will host the St. Marys Roughriders in a WBL match Thursday at the Wapakoneta Country Club.
