November is months away, but for the Auglaize County board of elections it seems to be right around the corner.
The board of elections met Wednesday morning to discuss its national change of address (NCOA) mailings, deadlines for petitions and the upcoming ballots for the Nov. 4 midterm election.
Director of the board of elections, Michelle Wilcox said 933 NCOA letters were sent out along with 1,002 supplemental mailings.
Josie Schaub, clerk for the board of elections explained a supplemental mailing is used to track voter activity and is sent out when a voter has been inactive for about two years.
“The supplemental tracks the voters that have no activity, no voting, didn’t update their address,” Schaub said. “It will track those voters so you have to send them a notice as well, along with the NCOA and then it gives them the opportunity to update.”
