School administrators, teachers and families gathered to recognize six students for their achievements in the classroom during a Wapakoneta City Schools Board of Education meeting in the cafeteria of Wapakoneta Elementary School on Tuesday night.

“I really enjoy doing this because our students can get some recognition so that they can shine,” WES Principal Mark Selvaggio said. “They also have their parents and grandparents here, and you can tell by their faces how proud they are of their children.

“It shows how we work well together, and it’s a great benefit. I’m glad we get to do this”

The students who were recognized were nominated by teachers in grade levels ranging from preschool to fourth grade.
