Just like their senior counterparts, the Wapakoneta Junior ACME team has started the season with a perfect 3-0 record.
The team has been dominant, winning all three games by 10-run run-rules including a pair of 12-1 wins.
Wapakoneta High School sophomore pitcher Quinn Lotridge combined with classmate Kodi Morgan on a three-hitter on Monday as the Redskins beat the Celina Bulldogs 12-1. The tandem struck out 10 batters as they limited the Bulldogs to one run in six innings.
Lotridge also had three hits in the game including a triple. Junior outfielder Logan Martin and freshman shortstop Jarrett Koch each had two hits in the victory.
Sophomore pitcher Jon Eaton surrendered only two hits and struck out nine in beating the Indian Lake Lakers, 15-0, in a game Wednesday at Wapakoneta High School. Morgan had three hits in the contest and Lotridge collected two hits in a game the Redskins scored 11 times in the first inning.
Freshman pitcher Rob Laney struck out nine New Bremen Cardinals in a home contest on Friday, a game which the Redskins won in five innings. He surrendered only one hit in the game and had to work out of a bases-loaded jam in the second after walking the bases full with only one out.
Lotridge paced the offense against the Cardinals with three hits including a double, Laney had two hits including a double and Eaton and junior outfielder Taylor Gonzales also had two hits in the contest. Koch had a triple in the game.
The Junior ACME team travels Tuesday to Minster to play the Wildcats and to Defiance Wednesday to play the Bulldogs in a scheduled twinbill. They return home for a game Friday against the Elida Bulldogs and then travel Saturday to St. Marys to play the Roughriders in a doubleheader.View more articles in:
