Azuba Meffley, 87

Azuba B. Meffley, 87, of Lima, died at 12:30 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 3, 2013, at St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima.
She was born Aug. 13, 1925, in Lima City Hospital, to Azuba Blogett and Smiles C. Wolfe, who preceded her in death. On Jan. 6, 1946, she married Gordon (Bud) L. Meffley, who died Dec. 17, 1980.
Surviving are a son Philip G. (Cyndy) Meffley, of Livonia, Mich.; three daughters, Susan (Stephen) Frank, of Sallis, Miss., Rebecca (Jack) Warecki, of Campbell, Calif., and Sarah (William) Finnegan, of Marion; six grandchildren, Andrew (Andrea) Frank, Benjamin (Amanda) Frank, Alana Finnegan, Rachael Warecki, Brandt Warecki and John Finnegan; five great-grandchildren, Nicholas Frank, Blaine Frank, Noah Frank, Cole Frank and Madeline Frank; two brothers, Smilie C. Wolfe, of Wapakoneta, and Freidan (Marge) Wolfe, of Columbus; six sisters, Ellen (Francis) Lowry, of Cridersville, Susie (Norman) Redick, of Lima, Harriet Neu, of Columbus Grove, Gretchen (Noel) Ritchie, of Wapakoneta, Nancy Beemer, of Cridersville and Martha Logan of St. Mary’s; and many nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Meffley was a member of Shawnee Community United Methodist Church and had been a 4-H adviser and was the former director and teacher at Shawnee Weekday Nursery School.
Services are at 1 p.m. Thursday at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home in Cridersville, with the Rev. Charlotte Hefner officiating. Burial will be in St. Matthew Cemetery near Cridersville.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Contributions may be given to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, Angels for Animals, the Ronald McDonald House or St. Rita’s Hospice.
