Auglaize Acres hosted its annual volunteer banquet last week in honor of the individuals who dedicate their time and effort to improving each resident’s quality of life.

“Volunteers Put Spring in Our Step” was the theme for the luncheon planned in time for National Volunteer Week.

Approximately 70 people volunteer at Auglaize Acres, whether that means coming in once a year for a large activity or visiting on a weekly basis, Activity Director Kristina Martin said.

“Some of them provided one on one attention, which is a big thing,” Martin said. “Some of the residents can’t get out of their room, or they just don’t care to come to the group activities as much. [The volunteers] don’t realize sometimes how much they really are appreciated. They help out tremendously.”
