BOTKINS — While he gets to know the faces and names of Botkins, the new village administrator says he has been greeted with a friendly community, and he is looking forward to familiarizing himself with the village.

“We’ve been out and about,” Village Administrator Ryan Piche said about working with former Village Administrator Jesse Kent. “You can’t help but meet people in Botkins, you know? You go down to the post office and meet five people. So, just by the nature of living here, I’ve slowly been able to meet people, and hopefully, I’ll be able to meet everyone as soon as I can.”

Although this is his first time living in Ohio, Piche said he is familiar with the small town feel. He said he is from a small area near Albany, N.Y. He said he is enjoying familiarizing himself with the area, as well as the daily operations of the village.

“My goal for now is to learn as much as possible, soak up everything I can from [Kent],” Piche said. “He did a fantastic job here. My goal in the short term is to continue the momentum that he has generated.”
