ACME: Wapak pounds Parkway

June 3, 2011

ROCKFORD — The Wapakoneta ACME team cruised to 10-0, five-inning run-rule win over Parkway on Friday in Rockford.
Chase Culver picked up the win, throwing five shutout innings with four strikeouts, three walks and just two hits.
Wapak’s Alex Koch went 3 for 4 with a double, two runs, two RBIs and a stolen base.
Catcher Brandon Schreiber was 3-for-4 with a double, a run scored, one RBI and one stolen base. He also threw out three runners and allowed no stolen bases.
Brandon Miller went 2 for 3 with a home run and a double. He drove in four runs and scored one.
“I was impressed with our hitting performance and our defensive dominance,” Wapak coach Nick Sammetinger said. “The guys looked good. However, we need to continue to get better and be more aggressive with the bat and on the bases.”
Wapak will host New Knoxville on Tuesday.
