The Wapakoneta boys golf team defended their home course with a 163-191 victory over Shawnee.

Varsity head coach Kenny Wayman said there were some tough conditions Monday that his boys were able to fight through.

“We will take that score and the win today under some tough conditions.  It was really windy and some rain involved.  The scores were a little high today from both teams,” Wayman said. “However, shooting a 163 today under those conditions, we will take any day.”

Leading the way for the Redskins was medalist Bobby Crow with a 38. Following Bobby by one stroke was Caleb Acheson with a 39.

Drew Wayman carded a 42, Lucas Lightle a 44 and Josh Apple and Aaron Johnson both shot a 47.  Wapakoneta moves to 3-0 in league play, and is preparing to take on Celina on Thursday.

The Wapakoneta JV won as well by a score of 193 to 224.  Scores: Jordan Dodds 43, Ryan Hunlock 48, Nick Bruns 50, Wesley Ruedebusch 52, Alex Gossard 54 and Dan Bogan 54.
