Anna Lea Miller, 76, of Lima, died at 6:05 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2012, at Baton Rouge in Lima.
Arrangements are incomplete at the Bayliff & Eley Funeral Home in Wapakoneta.

Tracy Swallow, 48

Tracy Ann Swallow, 48, of Wapakoneta, died Sunday, Feb. 12, 2012, at her residence.
She was born April 26, 1963, in Lima, the daughter of Naomi and Richard Carnes, who survive in Wapakoneta.
Also surviving are two daughters, Alisha Ackerman, of Wapakoneta, and Julianne M. (David) Sanders, of Wapakoneta; a son, Mitchel Richard Hicks and his father, Larry Hicks, of Wapakoneta; a granddaughter, Olivia Marie Sanders, of Wapakoneta; a brother, Victor Carnes, of Grand Rapids, Mich.; and two sisters, Tami Zwez, of Wapakoneta, and Fawn Purtee, of Alger.

Beau Kepler

Beau Robert Kepler, 43, of Barberton, formerly of Wapakoneta, died Friday, Feb. 10, 2012, at his parent’s Barberton residence.
He was born Jan. 17, 1969, in Barberton, to Irene (Winkler) and John Kepler, who survive him in Wapakoneta.
Also surviving are the love of his life, Laura (Hrabusa) Kepler; a daughter, Alexandra Kepler; two sons, Jacob Kepler and Caleb Kepler; a brother and sister-in-law, Marc and Krystal (Butcher) Kepler; two nephews, Luke Kepler and Owen Kepler; paternal grandmother, Rita (Kepler) Young; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

SWIMMING: 'Skins send 9 to districts

LIMA — Nine Wapakoneta Redskins varsity swimmers, seven of them in multiple events, advanced to the Division II district meet thanks to their performances in the sectional meet Saturday at the Lima Family YMCA.

The district meet will be held Friday at Bowling Green State University.

Senior Ryan Kremer led the way for the Redskins.  Kremer won the 100 backstroke and is seeded sixth in that event.  He took second in the 100 butterfly, earning the No. 2 seed.  

BASKETBALL: Panthers' pressure trips W-G

WAYNESFIELD — Every time the Waynesfield-Goshen Tigers made a run, the Parkway Panthers had an answer.

Eventually, the Tigers just ran out of runs.

Parkway used it’s full-court defensive pressure to slow down the up-tempo Tigers and hold on for a 66-59 win in a non-league varsity girls basketball game on Seniors Night on Monday at Waynesfield-Goshen High School.

The Panthers forced 24 W-G turnovers and kept the Tigers from attacking offensively.

The next move: Uniopolis may place unincorporation on ballot

UNIOPOLIS — More than 80 people turned out for a special meeting Monday in Uniopolis to discuss lack of village funding and possibly unincorporating and becoming part of Union Township.

“What this is about is that we are running short on money to run the town,” Mayor Bill Rolston said. “We wanted to get feedback from the rest of the community.”

WaterPark rates to increase

Daily and seasonal membership rates for the Wapakoneta WaterPark are going up this summer, but city administrators say this is offset by the fact the pool season also is going to be longer.

Wapakoneta City Recreation Board members approved a recommendation made by the Wapakoneta WaterPark Pool Advisory Committee to increase daily fees by $1 and the seasonal  membership fee for a family by $25.

C’ville to sell fire vehicles

CRIDERSVILLE — An area fire chief and his crew are ready to sell a truck that has been with the village for 21 years.

Cridersville Fire Chief Ron Mertz along with the Cridersville Village Council members intend to advertise the 1991 Ford pick-up truck for selling, as it is to be auctioned off.

The truck will be advertised in the Cridersville Village Hall parking lot, and it will be put up for sale in mid-March at the Springbrook Auto Auction.

Colista Kitchen, 68, 16244 State Route 66, St. Marys, died suddenly at 9 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 12, 2012, in the emergency department of Joint Township District Memorial Hospital in St. Marys.
She was born Jan. 21, 1944, in Olive Hill, Ky., the daughter of Evelyn (Carpenter) and James Middleton. On March 28, 1964, in Olive Hill, Ky., she married Charles Gary Kitchen, and he survives at the residence.
Also surviving are three daughters, Penny Ashley, of Wyandott, Mich., Raberta Kitchen, of Wapakoneta, and Leslie Kitchen, of St. Marys; and a son, Garrett Stacy Kitchen, of St. Marys.
