Wapakoneta outlasts Shawnee in 9 innings

April 12, 2014

The only walk of the game was basically intentional. It loaded the bases with two outs in the bottom of the ninth, put the Wapakoneta Redskins’ best hitter Renee Lovett on base and brought a struggling Redskins sophomore Sierra Sammons to the plate.

Sammons, who was 0 for 4 until that point, sliced a grounder to shortstop which was bobbled, allowing Bridgitte Weaks to score from third, giving Wapakoneta a 2-1 win Friday in nine innings over the Shawnee Indians in a Western Buckeye League varsity softball contest.

Despite being the visiting team on their home field, a patient Wapakoneta Redskins team rallied for a 7-2 victory Friday over the Shawnee Indians in a Western Buckeye League varsity baseball contest held at Wapakoneta High School.

The game was supposed to be held at Shawnee High School but was moved due to wet field conditions.

Wapakoneta starting pitcher Kodi Morgan dueled with Shawnee starting pitcher Zach Peake but, in the end, Morgan picked up the win en route to a complete game.

To do this, the council needed to perform all the necessary analytics and create an infrastructure that was conducive to industrial capacity.

Mayor allays fears over easements

April 11, 2014

Easements.

To some, they are a necessary evil.

To others they are just necessary.

The issue of easements reared its ugly head at a recent city council meeting, where concerns were raised about the city’s easements for the Auglaize Street sewer project.

Suggestions were made that the city administration changed the easements for the project and that residents were getting no answers from city hall.
