Virginia L. Vincent, 89, of Lima, died at 5:05 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 9, 2011, at Elm Croft Assisted Living in Lima.
She was born Sept. 11, 1921, in Detroit, the daughter of Elizabeth (Boczek) and Jacob Zalesku. On Oct. 11, 1941, she married John āJack Vincent who died Nov. 18, 1978.
She is survived by a daughter, Sherrly E. Vincent Wheeler, of Lima.
Private services will be held at Resurrection Cemetery in Mount Clemens, Mich., the Rev. Jerry Slowinski officiating.

John C. Slone, 56, of Wapakoneta, formerly of Plymouth, died at 7:40 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 11, 2011, at his residence.
He was born May 30, 1955, in South Bend, Ind., the son of Emma Jean (Hatton) and Charlie Joe Slone. On June 28, 1998, he married Jean Ella Binkley, who survives.
Also surviving is a son, Brandon Edward Slone, of Willard.
Services will be held at a later date.
There will be no visitation.
Contributions can be given to the family for Brandonās education.

Theresa Jane āTessā Neal, 59,of Waynesfield, died at 3:12 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 11, 2011, at her residence.
She was born Aug. 18, 1951, in Lima, to Melvina āJewelā (Hagan) and Melvin F. Hawkins. On Aug. 9, 1980, she married Donald Neal and he survives in Waynesfield.
Also surviving are a son, John F. (Amber) Neal, of Buckland; and a daughter, Sarah J. Neal, of Harrod.
Services are at 11 a.m. Monday at Waynesfield Baptist Church, the Revs. Don Smith and James Blevens officiating.
Friends may call from 9 to 11 a.m. Monday at the church.
Carl R. āDickā Heil, 92, of Cridersville, formerly of Wapakoneta, died at 12:20 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 11, 2011, at Otterbein-Cridersville.
He was born Nov. 21, 1918, in Auglaize County, the son of Emma (Cook) and Herbert Heil, who preceded him in death. On July 10, 1945, he married Lanetta Mills, and she died Jan. 4, 1977. On Dec. 22, 1984, he married Mary E. Shaw, and she survives.
Carl R. āDickā Heil, 92, of Cridersville, formerly of Wapakoneta, died at 12:20 a.m., Thursday Aug. 11, 2011, at Otterbein-Cridersville.

Betty L. Schroer, 88, 519 Westhaven Drive, New Bremen, died at 7 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 10, 2011 at Heritage Manor Nursing Center in Minster.
She was born on Jan. 21, 1923, in St. Marys, the daughter of Malinda (Gieseke) and Virgil Horn. On Sept. 25, 1955, she married Curtis Schroer who survives in New Bremen.
Also surviving are a son, Dwight Schroer, of New Bremen; and a daughter, Kathleen Aufderhaar, of Bluffton.
Services are at 2 p.m. Friday at German Protestant Cemetery in New Bremen, with the Rev. Stephen Wills officiating.
Susan L. Warner, 52, 207 S. Franklin St., New Bremen, died Tuesday, Aug. 9, 2011, at her residence of natural causes.
She was born May 19, 1959, in St. Marys, the daughter of Evelyn (Gieseke) and Karl Warner.
Services will be held at a later date at the Gilberg-Hartwig Funeral Home in New Bremen, with the Rev. Becky Erb Strang officiating. Burial will follow in the German Protestant Cemetery in New Bremen.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.
Joyce E. Kogge, 75, 211 North Vine St., St. Marys, died at 7:51 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 10, 2011, at St. Ritas Medical Center in Lima.
She was born Jan. 9, 1936, in St. Marys, the daughter of Lillian (Piper) and E.B. Hall. On Feb. 22, 1952, she married LeRoy Kogge and he survives at the residence.
Also surviving are four daughters: Jeri Lipp, of Celina, Nancy Moeller, of Celina, Linda McDonald, of St. Marys, and Kristine Holt, of St. Marys.
Frederick Alan āAlā Smith, 94, of Lima, died at 4:20 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 9, 2011, at Lost Creek Care Center.
He was born March 19, 1917, in Delphos, the son of Myrtle Etna (Westenbarger) and Frederick Percival Smith. On July 21, 1961, he married Martha Jane āJanieā Chamberlin who survives in Lima.
Also surviving are three sons, Charles Smith, of Lima, Dale Alan Smith, of Wilmington, Jeffrey Courtad, of Lima; and a daughter, Janice Sliemers, of Perrysburg.
He was preceded in death by a son, Lawrence Smith.
Robert E. Goodwin, 91, 6141 County Road 33A, St.Marys, died Monday, August 8, 2011, at his residence.
He was born July 31, 1911, the son of Zelia (Dixon) and William Goodwin.
On May 23, 1940, he married Grace W. Sollman at the United Church of Christ in New Bremen, and she died in February 1987.
Surviving is a son, Gary (Bonnie) Goodwin, of Wapakoneta; seven grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
