Harry E. Nichols, 89, of Lakeview, died at 12:14 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2012, at Logan Acres in Bellefontaine.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete at Armentrout Funeral Home in Waynesfield.
The 11th annual Wapakoneta Wing Fest at the American Legion grounds featured two new vendors during this year’s event, and one of them brought a southern mustard recipe up north to steal first place.
The winner? Saucy Sows, a new company out of Jackson Center, was started by husband and wife duo, Theresa and Scott Scherer. They started the company in January, and have been ecstatic with how it has taken off so far.
This Wednesday Wapakoneta City School students will do something they do every day — walk. Only this time, they will be doing it with students from around the world.
More than 600 Wapakoneta Middle School students are expected to celebrate International Walk to School Day, with special activities centered around walking and walking safety at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Harmon Field.
The Niki Schaub Scholarship Fund is auctioning off an antique tractor to raise funds for scholarships for Wapakoneta FFA students.
The scholarship, which was established in 1991 in memory of Niki Schaub, a 16-year-old Wapakoneta FFA student who was killed in a traffic accident, is awarded each year, but the fund has since grown enough where three scholarships were given last year, one $1,500 scholarship and two $500 scholarships.
Viola M. West, 59, of Wapakoneta, died at 10:15 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 29, 2012, at her residence.
She was born March 8, 1953, in Lima, the daughter of Mary Rose (Lease) and Brock William Conner, who preceded her in death.
Surviving are a son, Shawn Allen (Erica) Shaner, of Wapakoneta; two grandchildren, Jenna Ballinger and Colin Oâ€™Neill; two brothers, Robert James (Jackie) West, of Lima, and Roy (Elisha) Conner, of Wapakoneta; and a sister, Rose Conner, of Wapakoneta.
She was preceded in death by a son, Glen Arthur Shaner; and a sister, Brenda Conner.

Douglas J. Baker, 50, of Lima, died at 5:50 p.m. Sept. 26, 2012, at The Ohio State University Medical Center in Columbus.
He was born June 26, 1962, in Lima, the son of Evelyn Irene (Weburg) and Bobby Baker, who preceded her in death. On Nov. 9, 1985, he married Diane L. Knowlton, who survives.
Marguerite Hile Stewart, 96, of Lima, died at 10:18 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2012, at Otterbein-Cridersville Skilled Nursing.
She was born July 27, 1916, in Cridersville, to Jenny (Burden) and Charles Baker (deceased). On Aug. 6, 1938, she married Rollin H. Hile, who after 61 years of marriage, died Jan. 9, 1999 at age 88. On April 3, 2004, she married George C. Stewart, who survives in Lima.
